Bursaries

Preparing for the SQE is expensive, and we don't want the price of practice questions to be the reason someone can't prepare properly. If the cost of Solon Chambers or Solon Court is out of reach for you, apply for a bursary.

Who it's for

Anyone preparing for SQE1 who would struggle to pay the full price. For example:

  • you're funding the SQE yourself, with no employer or sponsor paying;
  • you're on a low income or receiving benefits;
  • caring responsibilities or your health limit the hours you can work;
  • you're resitting and the costs have mounted.

This list isn't exhaustive. If money is the barrier, apply.

What you can get

A discount on Solon Chambers, Solon Court or both. We decide the amount for each application: 25%, 50%, 75% or the full price. A bursary covers one sitting and applies to the online question bank and mock exams, not to printed books.

How it works

  1. Fill in the form. It takes about two minutes.
  2. We reply by email within 5 working days.
  3. If we approve a discount, you get a single-use code to enter at checkout. If we cover the full price, access is added straight to your account, so use the email address you sign in with.

What we ask from you

A short, honest statement of your situation. We don't ask for documents unless we need to check something, and we'll tell you if we do.

Privacy

What you tell us is used only to decide your application. It isn't shared outside Solon Prep, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. See our privacy policy.

A note on decisions

We read every application. We can't approve all of them, and we don't publish an approval rate.
