How each FLK1 paper is built
From January 2027, each FLK1 session tests a fixed group of subjects (SRA, 10 September 2026). Every paper in this book follows that split:

Ethics and professional conduct can be tested in either session, so it runs through both halves of each paper.
Because each session has its own subjects, your session scores tell you something. A weaker Session 1 points you towards Business Law and Practice, Dispute Resolution and Legal Services; a weaker Session 2 points you towards Tort, Contract and the Legal System.
Worked solutions for every option
Every question has a worked solution. It explains why the correct answer is right and why each of the other options is wrong, so you learn from the options you ruled out as well as the one you chose.
How to use the three papers
- Sit each session under exam conditions: 85 questions in 2 hours 33 minutes (about 108 seconds a question), no notes, no pausing.
- Space the papers out: a baseline early, one mid-revision, one in the final weeks.
- Review for at least as long as you sat. Record whether each miss came from the law, the facts or the clock, and take your weakest subjects back to your notes before the next paper.

Who it's for
- Candidates sitting FLK1 in January 2027 (11 to 15 January). The new format applies to first-time candidates and resitters.
- Candidates sitting in July 2027. The July cut-off is 12 March 2027, so check for any changes in the law after 11 September 2026.
- Candidates who know the FLK1 law and need full-paper practice. These are papers, not a textbook.

Frequently asked questions
Do these papers use the January 2027 format?
Yes. Each paper has 170 questions in two sessions of 85, with the SRA's subject groupings for each session.
Are these SRA past papers?
No. They are Solon Prep practice papers, not SRA past papers or recalled questions. The SRA publishes its own free sample questions.
Can I use it for July 2027?
Yes, but the law is stated as at 11 September 2026. The July 2027 cut-off is 12 March 2027, so check for later changes.
