Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We also use your browser's own storage, which works in a similar way. This policy covers the website and the Solon Prep app. We use two types:

Essential cookies and storage

Required for the site and app to work. These are always on.

• Sign-in session (sb-…-auth-token, browser storage): keeps you signed in to the app.
• Calibration test (solon_cal, 7 days, and solon_anon, 1 year): anonymous cookies that let you take the free calibration test without an account and limit repeat attempts.
• Display preferences (solon-sidebar and solon-install-dismissed, browser storage): whether you collapsed the app menu and whether you dismissed the install prompt. Your theme and text-size settings are saved to your account, not your browser.
• Checkout (solon-prep-checkout-draft and solon-purchase-tracked:…, browser storage for the current tab only): keeps your book order details if the payment page is interrupted, and stops a purchase being counted twice. Our payment provider, Stripe, also sets its own cookies on the checkout to process payment and prevent fraud.
• Free PDF offer (sp_popup_variant, sp_popup_snooze_until and sp_popup_done, browser storage; sp_popup_seen, current tab only): functional storage that remembers which version of our free PDF offer you see, and stops it reappearing after you close it or sign up. No personal data.

Analytics and advertising cookies (Google)

We use Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_…) to measure how the site and app are used, and Google Ads conversion measurement cookies (such as _gcl_au) to measure whether our adverts lead to sign-ups and purchases. They collect pseudonymous usage data such as pages visited and approximate location, and never include question text or your email address. When you create an account we store solon-sign-up-tracked (browser storage, no personal data) so a new account is counted only once.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential storage, you won't be able to stay signed in.
